"Helping" Around the House

Preface:  Helping is in quotation marks because this is like a Little Critter story-the intentions are good, but it often ends in organized choas.

One of Owen's favorite activities lately has been to open and empty the dresser drawers in his and Hannah's room.  He has turned Hannah onto this fun activity too.  If either of them have walked back to their room you know you only have seconds to get to them before the drawers are flung open wide and the clothes are flying through the air.  Sometimes Owen will put things back when asked, but then they just come back out again 5 minutes later.  He also likes to bring the clothes out into the living room as a kind of trophy that proudly displays his hard work.  This fun game is driving their mommy crazy since there drawers are now constantly in disarray.-no longer is their a neat stacks of pants, shirts, and sweaters but rather a hodgepodge of clothes that are a balled up mess!

Owen is tickled with himself as he comes down the hall proudly shaking his shirt.  Sometimes he even brings clothes to share with Hannah-see below.

The end result of mommy and daddy cleaning up clothes all day...

...daddy installs locks on all dresser drawers.  Sorry, Owen.

Owen also likes the dishwasher-he practices for the day when unloading it will be his chore.  He probably won't like it very much then, but now he scrambles to do this important job whenever the door to the dishwasher is open.
