Lewis Ginter was a Blast!

Chris went out of town on a boy's trip over Memorial Day weekend and my mom and I hung out for the weeknd as usual.  This year she stayed at our house and left Granddad at home with Cooper, their dog.  I decided it would be fun for the girls and Owen to venture out to Lewis Ginter one day.  So we put on bathing suits, lathered up with sunscreen, packed a lunch and headed out.  Hannah and Owen enjoyed spending the morning with all 3 specials ladies in their life (mommy, Nana, and Grandma).  We enjoyed walking on the paths and touching the flowers, listening to the water babbling in the brooks and watching the waterfalls.  In the solarium it was awesome to see all the beautiful tropical butterflies flying around in the butterfly exhibit.  Hannah and Owen enjoyed being so close to them and watching them land on the leaves and ground.

Hannah and Owen thought this fountain was really fun.  They thought it was funny that the water was "jumping"!

Grandma and Owen look for butterflies.
 What's in there, Owen?

Stopping for some water and a snack.

After walking around and seeing the butterflies we headed to the children's garden for their water play area.  Owen ran right in with eager excitement.  He saw all the other kids running through the water and he had to do it too with sheer joy!  The squeals and smiles on his face brought me pure joy.  I had so much fun watching him have fun.  At times he just couldn't believe what was happening and would stop and wave his hands around in the air in exuberance.  Hannah is our water bug, but took awhile to warm up.  I had to take her hand and show her how to go through the water.  Once she got the hang of it there was no stopping her.  She ran around with her mouth wide open in glee!

 Isn't this grand?!

I can catch it if I try hard enough!

H annah's face says it all!

They spent over an hour running through the water and were soaked from head to toe when we finally decided they were too exhausted to keep playing.  We finished up with a picnic lunch and headed to the car where a tired Hannah and Owen fell right to sleep.

Sweet sleeping babies...even though they don't look like babies anymore.
