We Play with Snow Inside Too!

We love snow so much that Hannah and Owen have what we now call "snow" boxes.  They really are just like sensory boxes filled with packing peanuts and cups, scoops, shovels, and sand toys but with the little bit of snow we've had in the last month we refer to it as snow.  Hannah and Owen both ask to play with their snow boxes often and know that we keep them in the garage.  They will both play for 30 minutes or longer with their boxes of snow.  They both like to use the dump trucks, bulldozers, and tractors to move the snow around too.

Our boxes of snow
We can scoop and fill buckets for minutes upon minutes.

 Hmm...Can I make a snowball?
This picture makes me laugh because they really arranged themselves this way while they were playing and it   made it look as if they were riding on a bus or train as they sat one in front of the other each playing with their own snow box.
This is what happens when Owen decides to dump out the "snow" in his box, but we had as much fun scooping it back into the box.
This is what happens when Owen decides he can throw "snowballs".  The packing peanuts were flying through the air and he was having so much fun and getting so tickled with himself that I didn't have the heart to stop him (the first time).  Notice that Hannah has decided to make a snow angel in the living room.

In addition, to our boxes of snow Hannah and Owen have discovered playing with snow in the bathtub too!  After they are all washed off we get out Daddy's shaving cream and squirt it on the wall and they like to "paint" in it and throw it into the tub (which Owen calls snowballs).  When it is time to clean up we melt the snow by pouring water on it.  Snowman treats are also a big hit right now.  They were introduced to us by our friend, Avery.  Snowman treats are mini marshmallows and they can be stuck into any snack making it an extra special surprise treat!

Hannah and Owen made snowflakes with cotton balls.
