Hannah and Owen's birthday party invitation for this year.
The food for the party included string cheese, rainbow fruit kabobs, goldfish, cheeseballs (these were Hannah's request from Target), and juice pouches for the Hannah and Owen and their friends. Adults had a meat and cheese tray, crackers, and pita chips with spinach dip to snack on.
Rainbow Fruit Kabobs
(episode: Teacher Harriet's birthday party)
Decorations:
Favor Bags included crayons, Daniel Tiger coloring sheets, a giggle stick, and a fruit snack (Episode: fruit picking day).
Grandma painted this pumpkin for us and it greeted our party guests at the door.
Games and Activities:
We were blessed with a beautiful day for another year and we took full advantage of being able to play outside with our friends.
Hannah and Owen's friend, Hannah, tries out the hula hoops. Hannah and Owen were so excited to have her and her sister come to their party. They are their dearest and one of their first friends.
Pin the Crown on Prince Wednesday
Owen thinks he is really funny because he lined up all the crowns around Prince Wednesday's head.
Dress up any way you choose,
find a way that's right for you!
The dress up boxes contained Daniel Tiger character masks to role play with too!
Hannah turns into O the Owl and Owen turns into Daniel Tiger!
Our jump jump is a lot of fun!
Our earliest friend, Avery, shows off her skills on the jump jump.
The birthday boy and girl hang out on the swings together!
Trace enjoyed the seesaw.
An inflatable pool with balls turns into Jungle Beach (the home of Daniel Tiger).
We also had our cardboard building blocks out so Hannah and Owen and their friends could make block towers like O the Owl.
The Trolley! Ding Ding!
The trolley from Daniel Tiger was Mommy's big project. Daddy got roped into helping too! Mommy and Daddy used a giant box from our storage shed and paint to create a trolley for Hannah and Owen to "drive and ride on". Owen jumped right in and sang, "ride along with me" while his friends hung out in the back. When their ride was over he would say ding, ding!
Mommy and Daddy's hard work pays off...the trolley is a hit with Hannah and Owen.
This made their party even more special!
Owen takes his friends for a "ride" around the neighborhood.
Hannah said, "Owen sure does have a lot of rule for his trolley!"
And we had a kiddie size inflatable too...
Cakes:
Yes, you read that correctly. We finally had to do 2 separate cakes this year. For months Hannah said she wanted a pink and purple cake and for months Owen said he wanted a green and blue cake. How could I not make this happen for them when they have to share so many things every day?! So we ordered 2 cakes for this extra special day. The ladies at the bakery really enjoyed making them and were excited to show them to me when I picked them up. Hannah and Owen were delighted to each have the cake they imagined!
Hannah blows out her candles with help from Mommy. We always sing to her first.
Owen quickly blew his candles out all on his own and was very proud of it.
I put these pictures on here because of how similar they both look as they are positioned the same way and both using the same hand to eat with.
Yum! Hannah loves birthday cake!
This dress up fairy costume from Grandma and Papa was one of Hannah's favorites. I can't tell you how many times I have already put it on her and taken it off.
Mickey and Minnie pajamas for each of them from Aunt Vic, Uncle Troy, and Wesley were also a favorite. Owen had been holding onto his Mickey shorts and short sleeve pajamas for all they were worth even though the shirt was a belly shirt and it is no longer warm enough for shorts. He was very excited about new Mickey pajamas and so was Mommy!
Hannah diligently opened each card first and then carefully opened her presents. Mommy read all of Owen's cards as he tore the paper off. He'd been chomping at the bit since the presents started arriving to open them up. Both were really sweet with each present and thanked the person who bought it before the present was even opened.
Mommy and Daddy thought and researched a lot for these special gifts...scooters!
Owen got green...his favorite color.
Hannah got purple...her favorite color.
They got helmets too!
Mickey and Minnie of course!
They had to try their scooters out right away! Everyone was surprised by how easily they pushed off and were down the hall looking as if they'd tried them out before!
Happy Birthday my sweet girl!
This picture captures just how much fun Hannah and Owen had at their party. It made all the planning, researching, and late nights worthwhile!
