In January Hannah and Owen saw a puppet show at preschool and loved it!! They were immediately inspired to create their own puppet show at home. As usual they like their play to be as realistic as possible which meant that they needed a puppet theater of course which is something we do not own. They started to make plans for how to make one of their own using cardboard boxes. I got the idea of using a trifold board and off to Target we went in search of the supplies we needed. They were so excited. Daddy cut a hole in the trifold board for the puppet show stage/window. Then Hannah and Owen came up with the design for their stage which was very specific. They had to have colorful stars all over the sides and bottom so we traced around a star cookie cutter and Hannah and Owen colored in all the stars. Then Owen grabbed his quilt because the puppet theater needed a curtain. We used clips to attach it to the theater and voila they were ready to put on a show. They were really excited about the process of bringing what they had imagined to life and it was really fun to help them with their creation.
