Let's Go Picking in the Pumpkin Patch!

After our trip to Wise, Va we continued to enjoy the fall season by taking Hannah and Owen to the Ashland Berry Farm for the first time.  Their Aunt Vic and I had talked about going to the pumpkin patch back in September, but time has a way of just flying by so it was a nice day and in between naps we decided to load up and go.  Aunt Vic and Uncle Troy joined in on the fun and helped capture the day in pictures (we'll need some extra help next year when Hannah and Owen's cousin baby Wesley will be part of the group).  Hannah and Owen tailgated again in the back of the car for lunch.  We enjoyed a hayride out the pumpkin fields.  Owen wasn't so sure about it and had a very hesitant look on his face the whole time.  Hannah, our thrill seeker, rode with her mouth wide open the whole time!  It was so cute!  I love the differences in their personalities. Hannah and Owen thought the pumpkins were pretty cool.  Hannah enjoyed touching, rubbing, and patting the pumpkins that we picked up.  She liked feeling the stem too.  She is all about texture and loves to feel different things.  Owen liked the pumpkins because to him they were a big orange ball.  He attempted to pick up his pumpkin and hold it.  On the return hayride we visited with a set of 4 year old boy/girl twins.  We also enjoyed taking pictures with the giant pumpkins and with the giant pumpkin cutout measuring stick designed to measure your child's height each year.  This year we started with them sitting on the ground!  It was a great day of fall fun at the pumpkin patch!

Out to the field of pumpkins we go!
Wheee!
We started to worry about all the dust Hannah was probably collecting in her mouth.
Owen was very interested in the hay, but then decided he wasn't too sure about it.
Pumpkins!  Which one should we choose?
This one looks just right for Owen.
Hannah and Daddy pick a pumpkin.
Uncle Troy and Aunt Vic love the pumpkin patch too!
Hannah and Owen get a lesson on pumpkins.
