Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter this year.  I'm sorry my post is a couple of weeks late.  On Friday we had an early Easter dinner with Chris' family which included Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Vic, Uncle Troy, Wesley, and Champ (their dog), plus us!  It was fun to all sit down to dinner together.  On Easter Sunday we went to church with my parents, but not before Hannah and Owen got into their Easter baskets.  They knew the baskets were left just for them and loved everything in them.  The Easter bunny brought lots of toys for the car (restaurants and church).  Hannah and Owen each got a Melissa and Dough grasping toy which is pretty cool because the pieces are attached with a bungee string and so can be twisted and manipulated in many ways.  Owen's is a giraffe and Hannah's is colorful fish.  They got some new cloth books and some indestructable books (yes, this is the name of them).  If you have small children you have to check them out.  They have no words, but bright colorful illustrations and they can be chewed on, bent, folded, and pulled on without tearing and yes, we've tried them all.  Mommy thinks they are awesome and Hannah and Owen love looking at them.  They also got bubbles, new CDs, some Thomas and Friends trains, and board books.  One of their favorite Easter basket items is a photo album with pictures of people in our family.  Hannah and Owen have been infatuated with the pictures posted on our refrigerator and each day we have to point out and go over all those friends and family members on display in our kitchen.  Now that they have their own photo album they love looking at the pictures of people most special to them and pointing at each person.  Their photo albums have been great in the car and they will often find the person I have asked them to.

How did Mommy know this is what would become of the Easter basket grass?

Hannah looks at her photo album before church.

Hannah and Owen did great in church and neither had to leave for any part of the service.  Their new toys plus Nana's church bag kept them entertained, busy, and quiet for the most part.

After church and a nap we headed to New Kent to have lunch with my parents.  As always my mom made a delicious meal-salad, bread, asparagus, and cheese souffle.  Hannah and Owen ate lunch with us strapped into their high chairs at the dining room table.

Hannah decides that rosary beads make a good necklace and she is quite proud of herself for putting them on and fancying up her Easter dress.

Owen and Hannah got new towels for Easter from Nana and Grandad

After lunch we took a walk and collected Easter eggs from Nana and Granddad's front yard and inside the house too (Grandad is good at scattering eggs!). Hannah and Owen love being outside and enjoyed using thier new bubbles too!

Looking for eggs...

Hannah was really into collecting eggs-so much so that she commandeered Owen's basket as well because her's alone just wouldn't hold enough eggs.
It's official-everyone has a turn wearing the bunny ears!

Bubbles...

A tired Hannah and Owen crashed in the car on the way home...and we were sad to tell daddy bye bye when we got home because he had to leave for work (out of town). Overall, it was a beautiful spring day filled with the blessing of family and the joy that children bring!  We are thankful daily for the many blessings in our lives and especially the gift of Hannah and Owen and the delight they bring us each day.
