Snowy Days!

Much of February was filled with cold, wet weather.  We had some rain, but we were most excited about all of our snow days!  We went from thinking it could possibly be a snowless winter to have 3 weeks of snow in a row!  Hannah and Owen had been waiting and waiting for snow.  I was beginning to worry that we would need to take a trip to the mountains just for them to play in the snow this year as their snow bibs, gloves, and boots sat ready and waiting in their closet.  They were so surprised when the first flakes began to fall.  They wanted to go outside right away but had to patiently watch as the flakes slowly began to cover the ground.  They were amazed when they woke up the next morning and quickly declared that there was enough to play in!  We were outside by 9:30 am I think!  During all of our snow days we enjoyed shoveling (well this is Owen's favorite thing), throwing snowballs, sledding down our driveway, playing with trucks, and making a snow family.  By the third set of snow days we were all content to stay inside and play.  We'd had our fill of snow, but we were so glad we had so many chances to play in the snow this year!

Snowy Days Set 1:

 Wesley came to play too!

 Owen's always working!

Owen's favorite snow activity is to shovel snow...too bad he's not old enough to contract out his services!
Hannah loves sledding!  The faster the better!

Hannah and Wesley race down the driveway together.

Uncle Jake comes over for a snowball fight!

Hailey has her first snow experience.  She spent most of the time inside.
I love this picture that shows all the activity happening at our house as we play with friends from next door and Wesley too!  What a great day!

Lined up for a sledding race- on your marks, get set, GO!

Mr. Josh and Wesley take a ride down the hill!
Sarah and Hannah line up for a race too.
The snow stuck around for a second day of sledding.  Aunt Vic couldn't wait to come down and try out our sledding hill because she had to work the day before and missed out on all the fun.  Aunt Vic loves snow days too!

Wesley tries sledding on his tummy!
Hannah and Wesley enjoy sledding together.

Snowy Days Set 2:

A week later we were back outside playing in the snow.  This time we really enjoyed making snowmen!

We did so much sledding last time that Daddy and Owen cleared the driveway right away.  Owen was so happy about this!

Hannah works on some snowball soup for our snowmen.

Serving up snowball soup to some hungry snowmen.

Pretty snowflakes on our door that Grandma, Hannah, and Owen made together.
Snow days are good snuggle days!
