Butterflies!

On Memorial Day we took Nana to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens with us.  It was just a couple of weekends after the butterfly release.  As we were talking about the butterflies in preparation for going Hannah decided she really wanted a butterfly to land on her and Owen decided he definitely did not!  They were in more awe over all the butterflies and sights of Lewis Ginter this year than they were last summer.  It is so amazing to see their young appreciation of the beauty of nature.

We spent the first part of our time at Lewis Ginter walking around to admire and talk about the flowers.  Owen and Hannah enjoyed finding flowers of each color that I would call out as we strolled around.

 Hannah loves finding purple flowers.
 These are Mommy's favorites.
 The rose garden was breathtaking.
I managed to catch a bumble bee in action.

Visiting with the butterflies was next on our agenda:

The butterflies amaze Hannah!

Hannah beckons the butterflies to land on her arm.

Eager for a butterfly to fly to them.

Headed to water and sand play we stop to look for ducks and turtles:

We welcome summer with water play!

We finished our day by playing in the sand area before eating lunch and heading home.
