Hannah and Owen played all weekend with Nana's toys without bothering each other or having to go in time out. Owen loved these little micro machines from Uncle Jake's toy collection. They were spread out all over Nana's coffee table all weekend and they are the only thing he played with all weekend long.
Nana shows Hannah and Owen how to make letters by lining up the little cars.
After naps we decided to head to Williamsburg for a little shopping, dinner, and ice cream. We took Hannah and Owen to the Yankee Candle Factory Store which is one of the favorites because of the Christmas room. It is always decorated for Christmas and every 10 minutes it snows (except the snow machines were broken on this day). To our surprise we even got to visit with Santa! You should have seen Hannah and Owen's faces when they spotted Santa in a red, white, and blue vest and t-shirt instead of his winter suit. They ran right to his desk and waited their turn to speak with him. Santa so kindly and sweetly talked to each of them and looked their names up in his "book" where he saw they had several check marks and when they said they ate their veggies and had been good listeners he added a couple more. Hannah told Santa she wanted some princess dolls (a suggestion from Santa when she couldn't come up with an idea). Owen had no trouble shouting out that he wanted a motor grader! When asked what he was going to do with it, Owen clearly stated, "plow the driveway when it snows!" Santa's reply was, "Where do you live?!" and Owen shouted, "Mechanicsville" so I had to explain that it had been a somewhat snowy winter. Not to mention Owen is obsessed with watching a movie about snow plows where he sees them clear snow in Vancouver, Canada.
