An Afternoon at Grandma and Papa's

So we decided it wasn't enough to celebrate July 4th just on the 4th.  The day after we went down to Grandma and Papa's house to play outside and cook out on the grill.  This time we had hamburgers and hot dogs and grandma made all the sides you could think of including potato salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, chips and dip, some broccoli for Hannah and Owen (to make it healthy you know), and Mommy's favorite pineapple salad with the pretzel crust.  Yummy!  There was even chocolate iced cake for dessert and Papa helped Hannah and Owen make their own batch of vanilla ice cream.  We enjoyed hanging out together and keeping the holiday weekend festivities going!

Grandma breaks out badminton, tennis rackets, and horse shoes!
Hannah gets ready for playing horseshoes.
Grandma gives some guidance on how to play horseshoes.

Then we try...we'll get the hang of it one day!

Owen loves playing in the sandbox that Papa built.  It helps that Grandma has so many trucks and tractors ready for Owen to play with because I think the sandbox would mean nothing without the trucks and tractors.

Hannah loves to swing and I love these pictures I captured of her!

The seesaw is fun too, especially when Papa pushes down on the end and lifts you high in the air and you wobble back and forth trying to keep your balance all while smiling and laughing!

Hannah loves bringing baby Lulu outside to play too.

Papa and Hannah check out what's on the grill.
Time to make the ice cream!

Everyone watches in anticipation as the blade goes round and round.

The finished product is pretty tasty!
