Getting Ready for Preschool

Hannah and Owen will be going to preschool in September.  They already know a lot of things and are pretty good at counting objects, counting aloud, recognizing letters, and knowing some of their sounds.  They have made the observation that letters make words and that words say something because they have recently starting asking what things say.  Owen especially likes to know what all the road signs say when we are driving somewhere or what the letters say on the side of a truck.  This past week we bought pencils and they have started working on tracing lines and letters.  They are really good at writing H and O, but we are starting to practice all the rest.  They are pretty diligent about it and seem to enjoy this "work".  However, their struggle to be completely independent with it is sometimes hard for mommy.
