It was finally time to buckle down and buy Hannah and Owen new cars seats. Sure our Britax Marathon's said to 70 pounds which they are nowhere close to, but they have almost exceeded the maximum height for the harnesses in the seat since they are both very tall 3 year olds. This posed a bit of a problem as Mommy and Daddy did not feel they were mature enough for regular seat belts and a high back booster. After a lot of research we ended up settling on another Britax seat. This time we bought the Britax Frontier 90. It is a high back booster with a harness. They can use the harness for hopefully another year or so and then we can switch to using the seat belt when they are a little older. The harness straps are much longer and there is now plenty of room for growing. Hannah had also recently been fussing and complaining or sometimes screaming when we tightened her harness strap because she was uncomfortable. I think the length of her straps were too short for her torso. We decided to let Hannah and Owen pick out their seat color so there would be more buy in on their part and desire to sit in the seat. After all they have a long while before they will be out of a car seat. Owen was excited to choose red and Hannah picked a flowered pattern with gray and pink. They are also super excited because they have cup holders! These seats no longer have the base needed for seats to be rear facing and so they sit flat on the backseat. This enables Hannah and Owen to be more independent and climb into their seats unassisted whereas before we were still having to pick them up to get them in. They also like climbing out of their seats and out of the car independently as well. Mommy and Daddy LOVE this as they are heavy and it make getting in and out of the car so much easier. They were so excited for their seats to arrive and be installed in the car in time for upcoming trip to the beach. Several days later and the novelty still has not worn off. I can say we get to ride in your new car seats and they are instantly motivated to get out the door!

Yes, we are in our pajamas for this event...daddy has been working late these days!
Daddy always has eager helpers at his side!
They really were this excited!
Hannah climbs into her new seat for the first time.
They even talked us into a joyride around the neighborhood which turned into a trip by the hospital to check on the construction equipment for Owen.
We all enjoyed the beautiful sky and clouds...this was a bonus!
