A Special Family Photo Shoot...Grandad Retires

So Grandad officially decided to retire from being a police officer after 35 years.  I've always thought my dad's job was noble, respectable, and important.  It was part of who he was and he was so good at it.  I've always felt a sense of pride about my dad being a police officer.  It's kind of hard to believe that he's moving on to different phase of his life, but we all knew that it was something that was forefront in his mind.  A few days before he had to return his police car and turn in his police gear he voiced a desire to have a family picture taken with him in uniform and with his police car in the background.  I contacted a personal friend whose husband, Christian Melgard, took maternity pictures of Chris and me.  We were fortunate that he was able to meet us on a brisk Sunday morning to capture a few pictures which will be memories that last a lifetime.  We enjoyed this special family time hanging out together and celebrating my dad and his career.
