A Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

Our trip to the pumpkin patch this year was decided upon spur of the moment on a beautiful and cool day at the start of October.  We also decided to try out a new pumpkin patch and we LOVED it!  We went to Lloyd Family Farms where they were just happy to share their farm and surrounding beauty with all the families that came to visit.  It was a really special afternoon and we look forward to returning to visit them again next year.  Sorry there are so many pictures.  I had a hard time choosing my favorites!  You can see how much fun we had!

Hannah and Owen both were beside themselves over the hay ride.
The biggest tractor at the farm pulled our wagon!

Our first stop was at the barn to see the horses.

Nana takes a break and spends some time imagining that she lived at this beautiful place!
On to check out the goats and chickens.

Off through the patch to find the perfect pumpkin.
We liked this bumpy one right away!
 A pumpkin cutie!
Walk carefully those vines will get you every time!

We got a lesson on the life cycle of a pumpkin as we picked up a baby green pumpkin.
From the flowers the pumpkins grow.
Hannah finds her pumpkin although she liked tried to pick up everyone she saw.

Owen has to pull and pull and pull to get his pumpkin off the vine.

Hannah's turn to pull and pull and pull...help Daddy!

We really enjoyed the patch of gourds.  Hannah and Owen picked more and more and more.  They liked being able to hold so many I think!

Waiting for the tractor to come and pick us back up.

A beautiful night as dusk falls.
On to explore the corn maze!

Finally we run and run and run up the big grassy hill after finished the corn maze.
Owen loves to tumble and roll on the ground.

  1. So sweet! We found a peanut pumpkin (looks like peanut shells growing on the outside) at the patch yesterday! Glad they had such nice weather :)
