A Day of Christmas Fun

After we did pictures we Santa we decided to turn it into a day of Christmas fun by going to Short Pump.  We enjoyed eating lunch out at California Pizza Kitchen and walking around to look at all the festive decorations.  We loved the giant reindeer and the enormous Christmas tree that we could walk through using one of the elevated walkways.  Our favorite part about the day was taking Hannah and Owen to Build a Bear for the first time.  This was a fun event for all of us as Hannah and Owen loved the process of picking out a Christmas stuffed animal and then helping to make it "come to life".  I think this was one of my favorite memories from this Christmas season.

At Build a Bear both Hannah and Owen picked out one of Santa's reindeer.  Owen picked the boy and Hannah picked the girl!  They are soooo cute!  Mommy loves them as much as Hannah and Owen do.
Owen with his yet to be stuffed reindeer.

Hannah pushes on the foot pedal to fill her reindeer with soft fluffy stuffing!

 Hannah is delighted!

After picking out a "heart" to go in their reindeer and having the final stitched put in they are off to the fluffing station.  They LOVED this part!  There were foot pedals for each of them and air would blow out of the nozzles to fluff up the reindeer's fur.

Next, we had to register our new reindeer in the computer by selecting a name for them and printing a birth certificate.

Hannah picked Dancer for her reindeer's name.
Owen decided his would be Prancer.
After printing the birth certificates we headed to wardrobe and chose some cute clothes for our new friends.  Owen chose a sweater and 4 patent leather boots.  Hannah chose a sparkly red dress and 4 sparkly red shoes for Dancer.  We saw the true joy of Christmas in their eyes on this day as we made reindeer together.  They are so proud and happy with their reindeer who have now been added to the collection of important stuffed animals that must be in their bed when they sleep.
