Our Santa Party Tradition Continues

Our Santa party tradition continued on again this year even though it was bittersweet, but that made it even more important that this tradition that started with a simple night to see Santa with 2 friends and some toddlers continue in a way that was filled with joy and fun.  This year we gathered on Friday, December 12th at Grandma and Papa's house to await the arrival of Santa on the firetruck.  This Santa is well worth the wait as the fire station decks the truck out with lights and sleigh and they blast Christmas music from the speakers.  Santa stops at each house, where children wait, to wave and say Merry Christmas and then he tosses out a handful of peppermints to the gleaming eyed kids.  It's just perfect!  Renee LOVED it the most of any of us and she was in our hearts and minds this night.

As usual Grandma fixed food for everyone and we enjoyed the fellowship of friends and family.  Everyone was wearing their Christmas apparel and the kids played together and enjoyed making crafts too.  This year we made foam Santas and Elves and necklaces too.  We also continued on the tradition of making reindeer food to use on Christmas Eve.  We had special reindeer glasses and Santa hats too plus glow necklaces to wear outside.  It was another night of Christmas fun and we were so happy to continue to the tradition even if it was with some tears in our eyes.  Thanks station #3 for making Christmas memories for us!

Wesley and Owen get down to the business of playing!

Time to make the reindeer food!
Hannah gets a spoonful of oats for the reindeer.
Next, we move onto crafts!  An elf for Hannah, a Santa for Owen, and a necklace for Avery.

Time to settle down and calm down with a show while we continue to wait for Santa...it's getting way past our bedtime, but we're hanging in there for the sake of seeing Santa!
We hear...SIRENS!  Everybody rushes to put on coats and shows so we'll be ready.  Looks like we can have a few more minutes to finish our show because he's not in the neighborhood yet, but he's getting close.

 Santa arrives!!
