Christmas Eve

Much of Christmas Eve was spent doing normal things around our house.  We played, took naps, and went for a walk.  After Hannah and Owen took their 2nd nap of the day we dressed them in their Christmas outfits and headed down to Nana and Granddad's house in New Kent to celebrate Christmas.  Getting together on Christmas Eve has always been an important tradition in our family and though our traditions are changing in some ways as our extended family grows larger our new traditions are just as important and special.  We celebrated on Christmas Eve with Nana, Granddad, Uncle Jake, Great Grandma Hanna, and EE.  Our Christmas Eve festivities started with dinner for everyone and then Hannah and Owen opened their gifts.  They loved loved loved tearing into the wrapping paper and tissue paper.  I was suprised by how much they also wanted us to take their new toys out of the package.  I feel this is a new development since their birthday.  After opening presents we spent some time playing with Hannah and Owen's new toys.  Then Hannah and Owen changed into their Christmas pajamas and went to sleep in their pack and plays while the grown ups opened presents, had dessert, and socialized.  We headed home around 11pm and successfully transferred a peaceful and sleeping Hannah and Owen into their cribs.

Hannah still loves to rock and she really liked the rocking horse's mane.
