Baking Cookies

Since the first year Chris and I were married my mom and I have made it a tradition to get together and bake cookies for Christmas.  We often give them as gifts and of course enjoy many ourselves.  I believe it began as a way to use all my new kitchen gadgets and bakeware that I received as wedding and bridal shower gifts.  Now we do it as tradition.  Each year we make some of our favorites and try to bake some new cookies too.  We listen to Christmas music and sometimes wrap gifts too!  Last year our goal was a least one batch since much time was spent feeding and cuddling Hannah and Owen who were just 6 weeks old.  We even burnt our first batch of cookies and left out some ingredients too because we were too busy loving on Hannah and Owen.  :o)  This year we baked with Hannah and Owen undertoe.  They enjoyed playing with our big serving spoons, plastic containers, and their own set of measuring cups.  They also kept busy for quite awhile emptying the pantry of all their food and experimenting with all the sounds each thing made as it was shaken or banged on the floor.  We were able to make 3 batches of cookies this year.  Maybe next year Hannah and Owen will be little helpers!
