Holiday Lights

It has been a tradition in my family for many years now to go and see some of Richmond's finest "tacky lights" and then to visit Krispy Kreme for hot doughnuts pulled right out of the river of glaze.  Last year we weren't able to fit it in with Hannah and Owen being so small, but we did get out to see Christmas lights and to get our hot doughnuts this year.  We decided to go to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens for their Gardenfest of Lights (not so "tacky" this year).  It made it easier since we could meet my family there and walk around with Hannah and Owen in their stroller.  It was a nice night with a slight chill in the air, but not cold enough to need heavy winter apparel.  We enjoyed seeing all the lights and spending time together.  I always like seeing the lights at Lewis Ginter because they use lights in interesting ways-it's not just Christmassy.  After seeing the lights at Lewis Ginger Nana and Granddad went through the Krispy Kreme drive through this year and brought doughnuts back to our house.  Grownups finished off the night with doughnuts and  Christmas Vacation while Hannah and Owen slept with visions of Christmas lights dancing in their heads.

We saw lights with Granddad, Uncle Jake, and Nana (who is taking the picture)

Hannah walked with help all the way across the bridge!  What a big girl?!

Owen thought the big fountain in the solarium was a bath tub-he was eager to climb in!
