Snow Day with Mommy!

We got our first snow day of the year last week.  Of course there was a lot of hype and build up about how much we were expected to get.  So we (like everyone else in Richmond) ran out to buy sleds.  We refused to buy them earlier because we didn't want to jinx our chances for snow.  As a teacher Mommy lives for snow!  Hannah and Owen were so excited about their sleds and had to practice sitting on them in the house while the snowflakes fell outside.  I think their squeals of delight were equal to Christmas morning when the first flakes began to fall.  Hannah was mesmerized and loved looking out the door.  Owen decided the snowflakes were, "not right".

Hannah jumped on her sled and said, "race down hill, hold on tight!"  She took baby Lena on her sled too with directions to "hold on tight...don't roll off."
 Owen's ready to go.
The second she saw the snowflakes Hannah wanted to get her sled and go outside.

We managed to get enough snow for Mommy to get a snow day, but not as much as we had hoped for.  We still got to break in our new snowsuits.  Thanks grandma and papa-our snow suits were awesome and we look so cute!  We started our day with a special viewing of Caillou in bed with Mommy and then we made muffins for breakfast.  We got dressed (which took at least 30 minutes) and headed out the door to play.

 We're almost ready!
Whew, Mommy is already worn out and we haven't even gotten outside yet!

We went for a snow walk to look for snowmen.
Our snow walk inspired us to make a snowman of our own, but it's arms and carrot nose didn't quite make it on.
