We did it!! With only one weekend break in between we loaded Hannah and Owen up and hit the road to Wise, Va. I should put a map in my post for those of you (most of you) who have no idea where Wise is in the grand state of Virginia. Basically you drive west on 64, then south on 81, get off in Abingdon, Va and then drive another hour on a curvy mountain road. It is one of the most beautiful places with grand mountains, but it takes forever to get there (6 hours to be exact and you're still in Virginia!). Hannah and Owen's Uncle Jake is playing his last year of football at UVA Wise after being a medical red shirt last year so we knew we had to see at least one game. We left on Saturday morning around 8:30am, stopped for lunch around 12:30pm at a Ruby Tuesday in Wytheville, Va and arrived in Wise around 4pm. Hannah and Owen did great in the car and took 2 good naps. We had enough time to check into the hotel, let Hannah and Owen play (they loved the king sized bed), and feed them dinner. We almost thought we'd be stuck in the hotel as thunderstorms moving east to west rolled through. The game was delayed by 30 minutes and we sat down in light drizzle but the rest of the game had no weather issues. Owen was so cute because he recently learned to clap and so did his fair share of cheering his Uncle Jake on. When everyone would cheer or start to clap so would he. Hannah and Owen stayed awake until half time when we broke out the stroller. Owen slept in the stroller and Hannah fell asleep on my shoulder. Hannah and Owen had a little bit of a rough time going to sleep in their pack and plays in the hotel room, but once they settled down they did great and we were able to visit with Jake. The next morning we met Uncle Jake for breakfast at McDonald's (a tradition and the only place to go). They were both worn out and slept for 4 of the 6 hours on the way home. On the way home they had their lunch strapped into their high chairs from home in a Starbucks where the grownups loaded up on coffee for the ride home. They were definitely ready to be out of the car by the time we hit 295 and Owen was flat out crying as we got off the exit headed to our house. But, they did great and we bought them UVA Wise shirts so I think there is another game in our future! Go Cavs!

Owen in his new car seat. He likes to travel with friends.
Hannah in her new car seat. She likes to listen to her music in the car.

Go Cavs Go!
Uncle Jake is number 55. These pictures are not from the game we attended, but their most recent game against Emory and Henry. I wanted to include them anyways because we didn't have a chance to get pictures with Uncle Jake at the game we went attended. Next time we will though.
