Let's Go Picking at the Pumpkin Patch

It was time again to go the pumpkin patch and pick some pumpkins.  As with everything we've done this fall I was excited to see Hannah and Owen's reaction to the pumpkin patch since last year they weren't walking or talking yet.  We tried going to the Ashland Berry Farm like last year and I was looking forward to taking some of the same pictures, but when we got there the line was 2 1/2 hours long and wound through the parking lot.  We immediately decided it wouldn't work for our 2 almost 2 year olds and left.  We ended up at Hanover Vegetable Farm and had a great time on the hayride out to the fields of pumpkins and picking pumpkins too with a very minimal wait.  The pumpkins were just the right size for Hannah and Owen to pull off the vines.  I was afraid they would want to bring them all home, but they were content to pick out just a few.  At first Owen thought they were balls you could throw in the field and so the first few he picked up got chucked through the air.  We finally had to tell him to stop because we were afraid he would end up breaking a bunch of them, but it made us laugh a lot!  Oh, our Owen is always a source of entertainment.

Hannah and Owen hold hands while they wait in line for the hayride out to the pumpkin fields.

Nana and Owen search for a pumpkin.
Daddy had fun at the pumpkin patch!
No, Owen, don't throw this one!

 Is it heavy, Hannah?

Owen's feet got caught in the vines several times.  This was one of several tumbles he took into the leaves!
Pull, Owen, pull-picking pumpkins is a little harder than picking apples.
Here comes the tractor.  We LOVE tractors!  When I ask Hannah about the hayride she says, "man, hat" because the man driving the tractor was wearing a straw hat.

Nana and Owen enjoy the ride back from the pumpkin fields.
Hannah takes it all in as we ride back from the pumpkin field.

Our painted pumpkin patch pictures.  We used sponges to paint our pumpkins and leaves.
