This is the 4th year that my school, Mechanicsville Elementary, has put on our Mechanicsville Miler. It is a fundraiser for our school as well as a wellness event for our community. The MES Miler is near and dear to my heart because I was on the first commitee and ran the 3 mile course the first year, I course marshalled the year I was pregnant, ran/walked it last year (because it was pouring down rain), and we walked as a family this year (Nana and Granddad joined us too). Each year I have been in charge of the food and cut way too many bagels and bananas to count!! This year the day was sunny and warm with no humidity. We all had a great time walking together and Hannah and Owen enjoyed running around in our grassy field as I was a course marshall for the 1 mile kid's event.
We're ready to go--Hannah and Owen eat their breakfast on the go in their stroller!
Daddy and Grandad wait to get started.
There were a lot of kids and a lot of strollers too! Hannah and Owen are ready to go!
And we're off...down Atlee Road we go.
Hannah held Grandad's hand for most at least a mile and would not let go!
Yay, we finished!
Owen cheers with his MES Miler shaker!
Hannah and Avery...good friends hang out together! Avery's LaLa made the shakers for us-thanks LaLa!
