Baking Cookies

On Saturday Nana came over and we had our yearly Christmas cookie baking day.  Last year was the first year we skipped since Chris and I got married so we were happy to return to our tradition.  For the first time we had 2 little helpers who were so excited to join in the baking fun.  Their favorite parts were measuring the ingredients and mixing everything in the mixer.  They took breaks to play and nap during the baking part.  They were especially excited to help taste each kind of cookie they made.  I wasn't sure how baking with two 3 year olds was going to go, but they were great helpers and actually it seemed we got the batches made quicker than ever before.  Nana and Owen would measure the dry ingredients and put them together in a bowl while Mommy and Hannah would measure out the sugar, butter, and eggs and get the mixer going.  Hannah and Owen liked to help scoop out the cookie dough and add the sprinkles when needed!

We get started with sugar cookies.
Hannah and Owen add green and red sprinkles.  Owen asked Santa what kind of cookies he liked and told him he'd leave him some green cookies.  So these were for Santa.
Measure out ingredients for batch number two:  Cranberry White Chocolate Chip

Wow, look at the mixer go!

 Finished cookies!
Sugar cookies are cooled so now we can frost and add sprinkles!

Santa cookies!

Mommy lets us lick the icing spoon! Yum!

Nana and Hannah work on the last batch of cookies...snickerdoodles!

They are ready to go in the oven!
