Happy Thanksgiving

Hannah and Owen were excited for Thanksgiving to arrive.  We had been reading Thanksgiving books, talking about whose houses we would eat at, and they had made lots of turkey crafts in addition to playing with their Little People Thanksgiving set.  Both enjoyed watching bits and pieces of the Macy's parade on TV.  Hannah had to put on her purple fairy dress and tutu so she could dance like the girls she saw in the parade.  Owen's favorite part was the police motorcycles at the beginning that led the way.  Both came running down the hall to tell me about seeing Santa at the end of the parade.  During the parade we also made turkey cookies to take with us to Nana and Grandad's and Grandma and Papa's house.  I think they actually liked eating more of the ingredients than making the cookies, but what baker doesn't?!

Thanksgiving Craft Projects:

These are supposed to be turkeys, but their feathers are rather spread out.  They look more like peacocks, but Hannah and Owen still called them turkeys.

Hannah and Owen and Mommy made thankful trees.
Grandma helped them make thankful turkeys too.

Dinner at Nana and Grandad's on Thanksgiving Day:

Playing is always the first order of business.

Dinner was delicious...at least mommy thought so.
Owen and Hannah picked at their food more than eating it, but mostly because they didn't want to stop playing.
Hannah and Owen have their own kids table.
Hannah works on her coloring place mat that is Thanksgiving themed that we brought with us.

We headed to Grandma and Papa's house for Thanksgiving on Saturday.  Hannah and Owen were happy to sit down and eat at Grandma's since they had plenty of play time before dinner.  They had warmed up to the idea of Thanksgiving food too and ate everything on their plates which included ham, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, and peas.  They finished their meal with banana pudding which was their request to Grandma before Thanksgiving.  Once again everything was delicious and we were all excited to have a second chance to eat Thanksgiving food!

Grandma and Papa had saved 3 ornaments for Hannah, Owen, and Wesley to hang on their Christmas tree.  The three of them together all looking for the perfect spot were so sweet.
