On Sunday Hannah and Owen were supposed to take part in an Easter egg hunt at our church after the Palm Sunday service. All flyers and announcements said the egg hunt started at 12 noon. Church ended a little earlier than we expected so we decided to grab some coffee and come back. As we were walking up at 11:55 am it became pretty clear that the egg hunt happened without us. I thought surely they wouldn't have had the egg hunt before noon, but when we wandered around back we were informed that indeed the egg hunt had already happened. How to you explain that to 2 three year olds who had bounded, skipped, and jumped through the parking lot just bursting with excitement?! It seems as though they were ready before noon and I guess it didn't occur to them that people were planning on the egg hunt starting as said at noon so they had it early. So we guided 2 very disappointed kids back to the car with the promise that we would have our own egg hunt when we got home. Luckily I already had the supplies on hand. Daddy washed up the eggs real quick and I found some treats to stash inside and we ran outside to hide them in the backyard. Hannah and Owen were so excited we could barely keep them inside. When we said we were ready they bounded out the door, down the steps, and took off in separate directions. They easily found all the eggs and loved every minute of it. At first they wanted to stop and open all their eggs, but a few lost treats later, and they learned to just put them in their basket and open them when all the eggs had been found. We ended up hiding eggs twice because they loved it so much. I'm sure we will do lots of egg hunts over the next 2 weeks. The disappointment of missing the church egg hunt wore off quickly and I was happy to get some great pictures with lots of smiley faces!

Mommy makes us pose for a picture before we can hunt eggs. Too bad the sun is in our face. We're still pretty cute though!

Looks like we should water our plants too while we are out here:
