Christmas Eve at Nana and Grandad's

After naps we headed down to Nana and Grandad's for our Christmas Eve festivities.  Nana always prepares a nice meal.  It has become tradition to have potato and corn chowder along with a few other things, but it is always a meal we look forward to.  Hannah and Owen were so excited to start their Christmas celebrations.  Once again this year it was quite warm and a messy, rainy day on top of that so I decided to forgo dressy Christmas outfits and go with something a little more casual and comfortable.  Before heading to Nana and Grandad's we made sure to sprinkle our reindeer food out in the grass just in case Hannah and Owen fell asleep in the car on the way home (which didn't happen).

Sprinkling our reindeer food...you can see the rain drops on the camera.  It would have been better if it had been snow.

This picture makes me laugh.  It looks like Hannah is saying, "are you serious?!"

 One excited Christmas face!
Grandad, Owen, and Hannah check out the ornaments on Nana's tree.
Our favorite Christmas story this year was 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.  They memorized the entire poem and could recite it page by page as if they were really reading the book.  It was amazing!

Now we patiently for presents to be handed out:

Owen is excited to get one of the first gifts!

Hannah gets super excited about her new slippers!

Owen gets a real football from Uncle Jake.

Hannah gets a soccer ball from Uncle Jake.
They get a PAW Patrol game to share.
Uncle Jake enjoys opening presents too.
Hannah and Owen are excited to give Nana her gift and to help her open it.

We end the night by putting on our Christmas pajamas and playing our new PAW Patrol game.

When we got home that night Hannah and Owen took the opportunity to say goodbye to our Elf, Sugar, one more time.  He was sitting in the Christmas tree that morning and had left a special note telling Hannah and Owen goodbye.  He said Santa had lifted the magic rule for one day so that they could give him a hug and a kiss to tell him goodbye until next year.  With tears in their eyes they did just that.
