Hannah and Owen's First Holiday-Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving, just 2 weeks, after Hannah and Owen were born we decided to keep things low key.  We didn't want to be around a lot of family for fear that they would catch something and we were still trying to get the new parents of twins thing down.  We wanted things to be as stress free as possible.  With that being said we decided to celebrate Thanksgiving with immediate family.  On Thanksgiving day we went down to Nana and Granddad's house in New Kent and we got to visit with Uncle Jake too.  We were punctually 45 minutes late and it looked like our car was going to explode when we opened the back hatch!  My mom could hardly help us carry stuff in because she was laughing so hard.  I think it had taken us most of the morning to prepare for the trip and either Hannah or Owen decided right as we were loading them up that they were hungry. However, it was really nice for Chris and I to have a change of scenery and we were able to relax while enjoying Thanksgiving with our family and Hannah and Owen.  The power of how much we had to be thankful for was thought of often that day.  We were so thankful for the gifts of Hannah and Owen in our lives and for our family and friends as well.  It was a great day!  We also celebrated Thanksgiving with Grandma and Grandpa (Chris' parents) at their house, but did so on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  It only took us 2 hours to get ready for this trip out and we weren't so late for this one either!

Hannah trying to suck on Owen's shoulder-they were not into this photo shoot, but I had to have a picture of them in their first Thanksgiving shirts.
I think Owen did what everyone does on Thanksgiving-he ate too much and then slept!
