My last pregnancy picture at 37 weeks. It was taken the morning I went to the hospital.
Right before the c-section and yes, both babies are being monitored.
Hannah Nicole enters the world!
Owen Lee is welcomed into the world!
Doubly blessed...such joy!
Owen Lee Houston
Hannah Nicole Houston
Being together comforted them and quieted them down when they were crying.
The first several months (lets be honest...half a year) are kind of blur, but I'm going to try to briefly catch you all up on the big moments and our favorite pictures from the beginning. Hannah and Owen were born via c-section on November 11, 2010. I made it to 37 weeks with no bed rest and taught up until the Monday before my c-section. My doctor felt more comfortable delivering Hannah and Owen via c-section, but they made it so we had no choice. Hannah was breached and Owen was transverse (straight across). Hannah was born first at 12:53pm and Owen was born second at 12:55pm. I was relieved and filled with emotion upon hearing their first cries. Hannah was 6 lbs and 03 oz and 20 1/2 inches long and Owen was 7 lbs 12 oz and 21 inches long. Everyone was really suprised by their size. Hannah struggled to regulate her body temperature in the hospital and had to spend her first couple hours under the warmer and had to revisit the warmer a few times during our stay. In fact we had to stay an extra night because of it. The first few days in the hospital with twins is exhausting. Chris and I were zombies. I was attempting to nurse and Hannah and Owen were losing weight so they had to be fed every 2 hours. By the time we got them both fed and sent back to the nursery so I could sleep we had 30-45 minutes before they were back in our room to be fed again. Figuring out the feeding issues and getting them to gain weight steadily was the most stressful part of the beginning.
