Getting Ready for Easter

We did lots of art projects to get ready for Easter.  Mommy needed to replace our Christmas wreaths and trees with spring artwork and decorations.  Doing art projects also helps us make connections between the holidays and the words that we hear.  We also talked about the Easter bunny and read the book What Is Easter? and by Easter day Hannah and Owen could say Easter is all about God's son (when asked).

Owen and Hannah painted paper plates yellow and then made hand prints to make baby chicks.

Hannah really enjoyed this activity.  She dipped cotton balls into glue and then stuck them on the paper plates.  We made and glued on ears, nose, eyes, and mouth to make a bunny.  Hannah liked this so much that she finished Owen's.

Owen isn't always into our art projects so he played with Easter magnets on the refrigerator.

Hannah was very proud of her bunny!

We painted Easter eggs with plastic eggs.  They were easy to hold and made great paint stampers. We made these instead of dying Easter eggs.

Hannah and Owen finished out their Easter projects on Good Friday with this picture of a cross and lamb.  They glued all the pieces onto the blue paper and then added white sticker dots to make the lamb's wool.
