Farmer for an evening...State Fair of VA

We were so excited to take Hannah and Owen to the State Fair this year as we knew they would really love exploring all the tractors and seeing the animals up close.  They were so excited about going and even more excited when we passed all the rides on the way in.  The tractors captured our attention first and I was afraid we wouldn't make past them to see anything else, but after exploring tractors of every color we were able to see the other fair attractions.  Owen was the most excited about seeing the red combine that harvests corn as he has a toy combine that he plays with often.   The real one brought his toy to life in his imagination!

Hannah and Owen jumped right into what you do at the fair.  As we walked up to the children's area they said I smell something delicious followed by, "I hope we eat dinner here!".

Owen really liked seeing the cows eat and moo.  He was also fascinated by their poop.  He asked, "what is that mommy?!"  When I replied cow stinky he claimed that cows didn't go stinky.  Later in the evening after spotting horse manure he proclaimed "cows and horses go stinky on the floor!".
Hannah loved the bunnies...she kept picking ones out that she wanted me to take a picture of.

They also LOVED watching the baby ducks go down the slide into the water.

We had to buy some doughnuts!  These have always been daddy's favorite from when he was a little boy.  Hannah and Owen liked watching them flip over in the oil.
Onto the rides...Hannah spotted the kiddie rides and felt a strong desire to get on them.  After getting on pretty much everything they can at Bush Gardens we they just knew they were going to get on these too.  I told Daddy it'd be mean to walk by and not let them ride anything.  Daddy had enough money to buy tickets for 2 rides each.  Little did we know how hard it would be to find 2 rides that met our quality standards (those things are terrible!).  The first one they picked whipped around the corners too much so we settled on these 4 wheelers and some dragons and Hannah and Owen were content although Hannah really wanted to ride the ferris wheel.

Before we left we had to ride on a few more tractors (green this time) and we had to try out some lawn mowers too!

I think Owen would have stayed here all night!
