Carving Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins was really fun this year.  Hannah and Owen did a great job of cleaning out the pumpkin pulp and seeds.  They were totally into it and enjoyed using their gardening shovels in a different way.  This year we decided to be more simple with our carving so that Hannah and Owen could decide what they wanted their jack o lantern face to look like.  They each picked the shapes they wanted to use for the eyes, nose, and mouth and they helped draw them onto the pumpkin with a marker so that Daddy could cut the shapes out.  They also decided how many teeth their pumpkin should have in it's smile.

Owen used his flashlight to help Hannah makes sure her pumpkin was clean on the inside.

Hannah chose circle eyes, a triangle nose, and a smiley face with 3 teeth.
Owen used lots of triangles for his eyes and nose.  He added 2 triangle teeth to his smiley pumpkin face!
