Fall Preschool Art Work

Hannah and Owen work on some kind of art project almost daily at Gingerbread Cottage.  They believe in the work being solely the students'.  The teachers model and give directions, but the child completes each project on his/her own and with their own interpretation.  It has been really fun to see their artwork come home and have them be so excited to share it with us.  These are just some of my favorites.

Hannah made the paper bag pumpkin and Owen made a tepee out of a tortilla.

Both of them did Ten Apples Up on Top to match the story.

They used apples to make apple prints in hopes of seeing the star in the middle.

Owen used spin art to make this spider web.
 Hannah painted with acorns.

They both made paper plate apples at Cottage Kids Club.

Owen made a big green monster hand puppet.
 He made a germ too!
 Owen painted apple trees.
Hannah painted a palm tree from Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.  This was one of the first pieces of artwork she brought home.  She was so proud and said, "I put quite a few coconuts on my tree!"

They made scarecrows at their Fall Festival.
They both learn about drawing people using mat man as a guide.  They learn to include all the important parts.  They spend time building mat man on the floor with special blocks.  Mat man comes from the handwriting program used by the preschool.

They have also learned and made their first attempts at writing their names.  These are so precious to me!  I can't believe they are writing their names.
