Hannah and Owen had preschool on the day of their birthday-November 11th. I took the day off as I usually do and was excited to go to preschool to celebrate their birthday by bringing cupcakes and reading a story. First we started the morning off with cinnamon rolls with sprinkles and a candle as a special birthday treat. Hannah and Owen's teachers were great and made special arrangements for the 2 classes to be together so that they could all have cupcakes together. Hannah and Owen picked out the stories that they wanted me to read,
The Night Before My Birthday and
If You Give a Pig a Party. The children enjoyed sharing snack, cupcakes, and stories together. I'm not going to lie that I had a tearful moment when I dropped them off because I can't believe my babies are 4 and in preschool. The joy they bring us each day is tremendous and I love this new stage of their life, but feel like the past 4 years have rushed by in a blur and that they've grown up before my eyes. I feel like the start of kindergarten is right around the corner and that gives me serious anxiety.
After a picnic lunch outside and an afternoon playing Hannah and Owen requested to go out to a restaurant for dinner which they think is great fun! Owen wanted pancakes and Hannah wanted mac and cheese and so there was only one place to go...Cracker Barrel! After dinner we came home and had cupcakes and sang Happy Birthday!
Pure 4 year old joy!
Owen is oh, so joyful!
He was in awe of every birthday minute!
Happy Birthday sweet babies even though you aren't so little anymore. We love every discovery you make and every funny thing that you say. You continue to challenge us on some days, but bring us so much joy and love everyday. We love experiencing the world through your eyes! We have been so excited about you starting preschool and turning 4! This year we hope you learn as much as you and have fun doing it! We love you to the moon as back and as high as the sky!
Love, Mommy and Daddy
