Hannah and Owen were so excited to watch the Macy's parade on TV. They actually paid attention to a lot of it as they recognized characters they knew from books and shows in the balloons and on the floats. We actually even recorded it when it re-aired because Owen wanted to watch it again. After taking Owen to Kid Med for a diagnosis of croup and naps we headed down to Nana and Grandad's for Thanksgiving dinner. Hannah and Owen couldn't wait to see the turkey and had this vision in their heads of the whole turkey being pulled out of the oven as we walked in the door...well we were late and Nana had already cut it into more managable pieces. They didn't quite understand this and were a little disappointed...there's always next year. Dinner was delicious as usual and we enjoyed some playtime too after dinner.
We had to miss the Houston Thanksgiving this year because Owen had croup. We didn't want to expose Hailey and Wesley to Owen's germs so we went to Grandma and Papa's on Saturday night for leftovers. Hannah and Owen were very upset to miss eating with the whole family though. We're glad they saved us yummy leftovers though. At grandma and papa's house Owen and Hannah helped decorate Grandma's Christmas tree!
Hannah received a new doll from Nana and Grandad. They bought it for her on their trip to Germany.
Owen received a double decker bus and a telehandler from Nana and Grandad. He played with them immediately and they've become an important part of his collection.
Thanksgiving crafts and such:
Hannah and Owen really liked making handprint turkeys this year. They like tracing their own hands. The one above is Owen's. He had some help from Mommy. The one below is Hannah's and she did the whole thing by herself.
What we are thankful for this year:Owen's idea of Thanksgiving dinner...this was an activity done at preschool. His teacher said he really worked hard on it and enjoyed the process of picking out all the food.
