A Christmas Tradition Continues...

A few days before Christmas and in between Christmas gatherings we loaded up in the car with Nana and Uncle Jake on the 3rd row seat (they had to climb in from the back), Hannah and Owen in their car seats with Mommy in the middle, Daddy driving and Grandad riding shotgun in the front.  We were off to see Richmond's finest tacky lights and to get hot Krispy Kreme doughnuts of course!  Hannah and Owen were really excited about the doughnuts.  They didn't get any last year, but I think remembered the apple cider doughnuts from when we picked apples.  Daddy did a great job of using Google maps to make a plan that helped us get from one tacky house to the next.  Everytime we got to a house on our tacky light tour Hannah and Owen would say, "put the door down" meaning to put their windows down.  They enjoyed pointing out all the santas and snowmen that they could find.  We marveled at the number of hours it must have taken to create the dazzling displays.  We probably looked at about 7 houses or so before going through the drive through at Krispy Kreme (we were literally stuck in the car and not getting out easily so we decided to forgo going inside and we'll save that for next year's trip).  We came back to our house to enjoy our hot, sweet, smushy doughnuts.  I think we ate 2 dozen altogether!  Hannah and Owen were an icky sticky mess, but loved every minute of this family Christmas tradition.

Good thing we didn't plan to get out as Owen decided to see Christmas lights in his bare feet after pulling off his shoes and socks!  This is a common occurance in the backseat.
 Best sight ever!
 Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm

Nana and Grandad enjoy their doughnuts.
Hanging out with Uncle Jake is so much fun...
