In between Thanksgiving celebrations we took Hannah and Owen to Crump park to play on the playground. It was fun to see how much more they could do independently since the last time we were there. They were able to climb up the steps and go down the slides. They even crawled through a tunnel to go down a big twisty slide all by themselves. They liked climbing on the train and fire truck too. It's always fun for them to be around so many other kids. It's like they are in awe of being surrounded by so many people that are their size.

After the playground we decided we would head to the Richmond Zoo with our friends the Parr's. It was a nice day and we'd wanted to go to the zoo the weekend of their birthday, but they were sick and we didn't get to go so we decided to take advantage of the day. With 2 two years running around the zoo I didn't get as many pictures of their first zoo trip as I would have liked, but I got a few. Hannah and Owen were impressed with all the animals although Owen shys away from things with unpredictable movements that are bigger than him. So he got scared by a monkey that jumped on the window unexpectedly and he was also scared when the giraffes took food out of his hand. Now we practice feeding the giraffes at his fisher price zoo so he won't be scarred by the experience.
Owen clings to my leg as he is not so sure of the emu walking along the fence in front of us.
Having fun with the Parr family-Hannah still talks about how silly Mr. Zach is for letting birds land on his head.
