In our family Christmas gatherings are spread out over several days as we try to see all extended family in the days leading up to Christmas and in the days after. This year our first Christmas gathering was on Friday, December 21st with Papa's side of the family which included Aunt Debra, Uncle Donald, Daddy's cousin Jennifer, her husband Jamey, their children Jay & Anna, Grandma & Papa, Aunt Vic, Uncle Troy, & Wesley, and Mema. We were really excited to be able to spend this time together with family celebrating the joy of the season. Hannah and Owen really enjoyed playing and spending time with their 2nd cousins, Jay and Anna. They got their first taste of opening gifts and loved every minute of it. Hannah opened her presents slowy and thoughtfully all by herself and then asked for the paper and ribbon to be put back on when she was done. She got a new cabbage patch babydoll from Aunt Debra and Uncle Donald that she fell in love with. It has a passy and a sippy cup too. When it was time to leave Hannah got tears in her eyes and said, "take baby with you." We had to explain that it was a gift and indeed hers to keep because she thought she had to leave it at Aunt Debra and Uncle Donald's house. She slept with it in her crib that night and it has gone with us everywhere since she got it. She also got a really cool LeapFrog touch board from Jay and Anna that is a counting train. Owen got a dump truck from Aunt Debra and Uncle Donald that rumbles and rolls by itself with the push of a button. There is also a man driving the dump truck which is very important to Owen. Everything has to have a man in it that can be taken in and out. Owen loves his dump truck as much as Hannah loves her babydoll. He also got a Leap Frog touch board from Jay and Anna that is a town and you can hear about the school, bakery, library, fire station, etc when you touch each picture.
Hannah finally got to wear her Christmas dress which she thinks is so pretty. When we talk about it she says, "thank you Grandma!" because Grandma bought it for her. When she saw herself in the mirror she practically gasped in awe.
